I’ve been working on a calendar project for 2023, and I’m excited to share each month with you. I think these paintings are some of my best work. They were all done in watercolour on watercolour paper and edited digitally.

For this project, I gave myself the theme of “A Year in a Canadian Forest”. I therefore only painted plants and animals that are native (or naturalized) to Canada.

To end the year, I chose this sleeping Fox for December. He is so quiet and looks so pleased with himself! The forest is slowly being covered in snow, but his fir tree is still protecting him from the wet and cold.
