This fox has been on my to-paint list for most of this year, and I’m so glad it’s finally in this world! I spent a lot of time thinking about it and looking at how other artists approach foxes. I find them incredibly hard to draw because if you do not pay attention to little details, your fox will end up looking more like a cat or dog! In any case, it was very fun to explore this animal through painting, and the process was very instructive and pleasant.
I also really enjoyed working on the apples. They were all about light and reflected light, and it was fascinating to pay attention to this. It made me want to visit orchards!
For this painting, I used watercolour paints on watercolour paper.
Like the other nature journal pages I painted earlier this year, I also turned this one into a zine. There is something quite satisfying in making these little booklets!
I also made a few cards and bookmarks with these little creatures!
