I’ve been working on a calendar project for 2023, and I’m excited to share each month with you. I think these paintings are some of my best work. They were all done in watercolour on watercolour paper and edited digitally.

For this project, I gave myself the theme of “A Year in a Canadian Forest”. I therefore only painted plants and animals that are native (or naturalized) to Canada.

November is a Raccoon! I really wanted to paint this beautiful animal. During Fall, they eat as many mushrooms as possible and grow nice and fat to spend a quiet winter in their nest. They are such unique animals.
