I’ve been working on a calendar project for 2023, and I’m excited to share each month with you. I think these paintings are some of my best work. They were all done in watercolour on watercolour paper and edited digitally.

For this project, I gave myself the theme of “A Year in a Canadian Forest”. I therefore only painted plants and animals that are native (or naturalized) to Canada.

For July, I had to feature hummingbirds! They are such amazing birds! Seeing them fly around always feels like such a treasure and I envy their playfulness. Foxgloves are stunning flowers and one of their favourite treats.
