Chúc Mừng Năm Mới 2022! For the year of the Tiger, I wanted to pay a special tribute to Tết (the Vietnamese Lunar New Year celebration) and my Vietnamese heritage. It was very fun to research the traditional áo dài (dress), and I was amazed by the creativity of modern designers and their incredible dresses. I went with a more traditional style dress for this painting, and I made sure to include the beautiful yellow flowers, forsythia, that are usually used to decorate for the New Year.

It was very fun to paint something different from my usual work, and especially nice to paint these two tigers. What a wonderful animal! I used watercolours on watercolour paper and added the background digitally.
