I hope you are all doing well!
I worked hard this week to finish the painting I was telling you about last week. I am so excited to share this one with you because I have been wanting to paint some Vietnamese fruits for the longest time. They are so varied, so rich in colours and shapes, and so delicious! I grew up eating many of them (my favourites being ramboutans and durian) and hearing about the incredible markets that populated my mom’s childhood. I combined everything here and even added a magical fruit merchant to celebrate the year of the Tiger a bit more.
It was so much fun and also a bit challenging to draw all these fruits and their textures. I love how colourful they are! If you want to see some process pictures and more details, feel free to visit my portfolio.
Outside the atelier, we spent some time this weekend finally taking out our seedlings and moving them to their permanent home in the vegetable patch. It was hot and humid, and we collected many bug bites, but everyone is settling nicely now. The garden is thriving at the moment and giving us a bounty of spring blooms… and a visiting cat friend! I am particularly in awe of the apple and pear blossoms that are so beautiful! The tulips are simply stunning, and I cannot help but stop to admire them each time I step outside.

That’s it!
Until next week,
Take care 🧡🧡🧡
